Sitting on a rock-face at the Hammond Pond Reservation in Newton I couldn't help but think to myself that I'd like to sell my house in the city and escape to a place like Newton. As a tourist destination Newton does not have much to offer however it wouldn't make a bad place to live. Newton has a small feel with an ample amount of restaurants and dirning, a little shopping, no nightlife and very few attractions. Unlike Boston, Newton does not have all the hustle and bustle of the city. In fact, Boston is only about a 20 minute drive from Newton. Newton, MA is a small city located not far from Boston. Newton, MA is a great place to visit, it's just unfortunate because during the winter months Newton, MA spends it time covered in snow. Shopping 5/10 The winter in Massachusetts is probably not the best time to visit, unfortunately I just so happened to pass through Newton, MA in the winter of 2009. The city and local organizations such as the Newton Conservators, Bike Newton, and the Green Decade/Newton are constantly working to green up the city. Many of the local restaurants are spectacular.
